Phoenix Community Walk
Sun, Sep 20 • 12:00 - 1:30AM
Modesto, CA
About the event
On September 19th, 2026 In Their Name: A National Day of Remembrance and Connection. The idea comes straight from a tradition many of you know firsthand: our Moab hikes, where each person carries a small stone and builds a cairn (a stack or pile of stones) at the trail's end. We're taking that ritual—carrying a name, carrying a memory, carrying a person forward—and opening it up to the whole country. The core message is this: Together, we carry their memory, and in their name we create a path to hope, help for others, and healing.
What to bring
Find a stone. Please bring a stone of your choice. Write the name of someone you've lost to substance use, mental health struggles, or isolation on your stone. Carry it with you on September 19th: We will walk 2 miles together in community! A fun walk :)
