In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day, Mental Health America is sharing practical strategies to strengthen support and help prevent suicide in rural communities. Remote and agricultural areas face distinct mental health challenges, including geographic isolation, limited healthcare access, and deep-seated cultural stigmas that can prevent people from seeking help. However, rural areas also have incredible resilience and unique strengths that allow community members to participate in collective care and support one another.
